Summary
Zombie in Love is a short picture book that follows Mortimer.  Mortimer is a zombie and he wants to do all the things that live people do.  In  specific Mortimer wants to find love and a date to the sweethearts dance.  We see Mortimer go through his day and get ready and even try to ask a few girls out.  When he is shot down by all the girls Mortimer decides to go to the dance anway on his own.  After spending most of the night by himself watching everyone else dance Mortimer gets up to leave but just as he does Mildred appears.  Mildred is also a zombie!  The two of them finish the night on a drive and share a nice plate of brains right beside the candle light.  Then as the book ends the two zombies get married.
Evaluation
This book was a very cute read and it was nice to see that Mortimer actually finds his person.  It helps instill the theme that everyone has someone for them.  Unfortunately, since I plan on teaching middle school and high school English I would not use this book in my classroom as it best suits younger ages.

She tries and tries and finally she gets lucky when her dad understands the words Knuffle Bunny.  After he figures out what is wrong he now has to track down the bunny.  Thank goodness after retracing their steps they are able to find knuffle bunny! Evaluation I think this story would be really good to use as a teaching moment to students about retracing their steps.  It teaches them to be able to encode and store long term information by practicing the reflection that happens when thinking about what you have previously done.  And once they learn that then they will be able to reflect even if it...
